I won't say you have to struggle but most people who make it big do struggle somewhat in the beginning. We very rarely see that. All we see is the finished product and it looks like they've made it overnight. That's not necessarily the case...we just didn't know them when they were "nobody".
The only folks I believe who have absolutely no struggle are the ones born into wealth. I mean...i'll give u a token ...maybe one who wanted to do sh*t on their own but they already have the connections in place and the monetary backing etc so I don't really consider that struggling. Tho they might.

Let me add....I do believe you have a select few that have the type of energy/personality/luck that things just seem to fall into place and they do "make it" within a short period of time (short period of time being a year or 2 since they started their adventure) . So they might "struggle" a lil bit but not for long.

I don't see struggles, I see challenges. And I've always overcome them. Some people are never "challenged" so they may lack work ethic, social skills, and overall basic survival skills.

My gripe..
I hate when black people say it though. The ones who have told me that are the ones who society wouldn't deem as being successful, but to be fair, they seem to be content with their lives. Black folks have struggled enough. Stop accepting that it's something that we must do. Thinking that will keep you in that mind frame, stopping you, I believe, from becoming greater.
I agree, people see successful people and think that they never been through anything and that's far from true in some cases. I remember in my young 20s I moved to a city by myself. I worked 2 jobs, had my own apartment, and car. To me, that's not making it, that's just living. Who don't have that. To my "friends" back home, I thought I was all that now. You so called have to struggled to make it, but when you do "make" it, some people hate you for it.

Exactly.. Like some people may not have it easy, but they can learn a trade, go to school, start a side hustle or something to live better, but they don't.

people usually characterize effort as struggle when they are doing something they didn't want to do
there's going to be struggle when your actions contradict your intent
effort isn't seen as struggle when you're doing what you want to do, pretty much how you want to do it, for reasons you agree with it, to meet an end that you look forward to ...
