That doesn't look silky to me, just well managed.

Really? Look at her edges. Before I saw her hair in it's wet state (it was a stretched ponytail) I assumed it would be a 4a or something. I argued my cousin down. Then I saw it wet. Turns out it it's a really silky, naturally shiny and soft 4c.

Yea really, i have 3's hair, but i know plenty of people with 4's hair that looks like this. Those are the people who take really good care of their hair.

? I have 4c hair but my hair looks nothing like that. It looks dry, cottony, and soft. That's just the nature of my hair. That doesn't mean 4Cs who don't have a sheen to their hair don't take care of it.

I agree. It seems to be a pretty common thing people say/think. You can't simply look at someone's hair and tell if it's dry.

The every time someone posts a picture of a baby with loose natural hair people will be like "why don't they do that baby's hair? It looks so dry!"

Not nearly. It always looks dry and crispy to me. Nothing to aspire to.

funny thing is, my hair looks dry too, even freshly moisturized. so its hard to judge. but for real, she doesnt seem to do much in the way of caring for her hair. Its still thick and growing like weed tho...some folks got all the luch
