I only say it when Im tryna be rude

It doesn't matter how long they have 'been together'. Hee hee!

It you have a child out of 'wedlock' .. you are by contemporary standards a 'baby mama'. DUH! 'Being together' is just shacking up. No commitment, no family structure, no support, no financial stability, no framework for responsibility and the list goes on - and before you know it .. there’s another baby by ANOTHER baby daddy. Ghetto.
Then people don't understand why there is so much poverty in the AA community and there are so many gangs. Gangs ... because there is no stability and FATHER in the house so the kids grow up any old way .. and end up in jail/gangs.

Sure there are the exceptions .. but without a legitimate family structure you cheat the kids you love so much out of a fair start in life. So yes, in 15 years they themselves will get knocked up or knock someone up... and the cycle repeats itself.

This is not the fault of White people.. Black people are just raising their kids any old kind of way IF THEY ARE NOT LEARNING TO KEEP THEIR KNEES TOGETHER. Geesh.

And White people can be just as ghetto - because they can be 'baby mamas' too. This term was created by the Black community because propensity to lay up and get knocked up is soo prevalent ... that they made up this term for it.

When I was in high school, they had this big public awareness campaign to bring to attention the number of high school unwed mothers - particularly in the AA community. The big term they used was they do not want you 'to become another statistic'. Meaning just another AA that got knocked up.

I always thought .. well, my parents didn’t have to worry about me ... I don't even understand why these girls having sex either .. because I wasn't.

AND THAT WAS IN 1970!!

So yes, this baby mama thing is waaaay through the roof today. Way out there. I don't think anyone back then could have anticipated that this situation would have gotten EVEN WORSE over the years.

Just pitiful.

Actually no, she had the children first then got married.

I too thought she was married first and was sympathetic. After I learned she did have them out of wedlock i was like *shrug* maybe the other lady didnt know she said "I do" eventually...

I also think people who actively use the term to describe the parent of the child doesn't have and/or never did have a relationship. My ex-husband and I would never use that term for each other. It's impersonal, and IMO disrespectful. He and I co-parent very well. We have remained friends after the divorce. I don't know people in real life who use that term.

When my brother and I ¢ are chatting he refers to his eldest daughter mom as his baby momma (never married, drama filled relationship).

Refers to his youngest kids mother (ex wife) as the ex, by her first name, or name of kid mom.

Any thoughts from men on board, referring to the mother of your children differently.

There is a difference.
Are we pretending it's not?
My SO has a baby mama and and ex wife that he has kids by.
He uses different verbiage when referring to them.

I don't know any divorced people that use BM/BD unless they're joking, and that's still rare.

I only hear "sperm donor" if the father is a dead beat, never married or not.

Baby Daddy/Mama = Never married and filled with drama and pain and confusion

Mother/Father of my child - If you two are on a good note, but never married

Ex Wife/Husband - Married regardless of children or not.

On an episode of the braxtons one member from the father's side referred to their mom as baby mama using a microphone at the their father's bday party. They were offended. The parents were married longer than ive been alive and probably divorced for just as long lol. That's so disrespectful

Why she mad at the girl and not her ex huzzzzband? he the one that told old girl she was his baby momma . the girl most likely was someone he is currently dicking down, and was being funny, who else just asks a random stranger "are you so and so baby momma?" why would you give a phukc??

sorry I can't buy that is exactly what transpired but its her story.
