Nope but u would be surpised how many ppl have died in homes that we live in today .I know back in the old days ppl use to let the person that died lay in the bed in their room or the front room for ppl to come and pay their respects. So sometimes that noise maybe more than just a noise
I went to a service like that as a young child . The body began to rise due to the hot weather.Cry

I find that creepy as heck even if it is basically the same concept as having a wake. This kind of reminds me of the news article some time a few years ago about the wake they had for a hispanic guy where they had him standing up instead of lying downDeadCry

Lots of bad things happen in houses...people get raped, beaten, starved, abused, and killed. You're buying a house, not the experiences that happened in the house.
This.

Ignorance to the dead...*sigh*

the house that my grandma lived in before she died was where my uncle committed suicide and my granddaddy passed away there too. now my mom lives there. sometimes when i go over i can feel a presence. i can even smell grand daddys cologne out of nowhere. i wish my mom would sell the house and move. it has too many bad memories.

It is used in a lot of traditions, and it seems to work.

My old apartment, the lady who lived next door told me a man had died...or several at some point.

That place gave me the creeps when I was there by myself. One time my bedroom door opened on its own. And my yorkie was forever barking at corners or doorways when there was no one there but me and him!

I was never so glad to move.

Turns out, my block/general neighborhood used to be an indian burial ground. Ermm

On the other hand, my grandfather passed away in his house, and I always felt safe and cozy there. :) So, I think it depends on who passed, and what kind of life they led and the energy they created.

ShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShockedShocked see, ima need to start researching where i move.

eta: i tried to research my current apt as much as possible, had my bf drive there and scout it out, googled, etc but you never know what happened on the land.

Yes I would. I think this happen a lot. That's why some people either bless the land or use some type of incense or items to get rid of whatever bad was there.

I prayed about it. And I also believe in symbolism. The fleur de lis is also an archetypal symbol for the Holy Trinity. I found some fantastic wall decals that were decorative fleur de lis' and posted them ALL OVER my old apartment.

The bad energy pretty much went away for the most part. Whenever I was home alone overnight I ALWAYS slept with the TV on, too creepy with the lights off. I definitely think my old apartment was haunted...according to my neighbor way too many ppl who lived in it before me had come to bad situations. And she's been living next door to that apartment since the 60s. So...lots of people came and went (and not in the good way) in that old apartment. SO GLAD I MOVED!
