I said  "Definitely Not! / No" because I know how my hair was relaxed and I know how it is natural and honestly I love the natural feeling, If anything I would flat iron it if I MUST see it straight but other than that I am not going to go back to a relaxer.

Long-term transitioner here and the answer is quick and simple: Heeelllll NO!!

Sure i've had my ups and down and comtemplations on whether to go natural or not,but i've just really truly deep down realized that I love my coils, curls and silky texture WAY too much to put that harsh, drying, burning mess near my head again! Nope! Hell,my natural texture straightens 10x better w/just a simple heat protectant and flatiron than a relaxer ever could.

I honestly just don't like the texture nor look of relaxed hair at all. I know relaxed hair can imitate other styles and types, but it honestly just doesn't do if for me anymore no matter how much water, oil, heat or moisturizer added because of what the harsh drying ingredients of chemicals has already done to it. I've seen, admit and even praised some of the long, thick, gorgeous beautiful relaxed and texlaxed hair that i've seen on here, youtube, real life and on other hair forums, but it is what it is...*shrug*.

I can not WAIT to cut off the rest of these thin, stringy, limp, dry ends. Bleh!

Right now, I want to go natural, because it's healthier; I don't see this decision changing any time soon.. however, if I feel that being natural isn't for me (which I doubt), then back to the relaxer or trying heat training, or trying a texlaxer it is..

Damn.. almost a year later and I still feel the same.
I also have another reason for not wanting to go back.

With relaxed hair, I didn't have the thickness, or length that I have now with my transitioner's New Growth. I can get the length with proper care, but I doubt I'd achieve the same thickness natural hair can accomplish. What's the point of relaxing, if I want the thickness only natural hair can offer?
Also, over processing is a big issue. I'm too scared to mess up the length of my hair to try that just yet.
Equally, the threat of relaxer burns loom above my head. This influences my decision greatly because, I remember the burns to this day. It was a tingling sensation, urging you to scratch. And though I didn't suffer hair loss, I think my temples thinned because of it. Also, I don't want to have that sensation issue ever again.
So for now, I'm sticking to my decision. And I'm pleased with the result. Possibly, in the future I'll try it again.
Most likely, I'd texlax my hair though. The issue I have with texlaxing though is, it's a weakened relaxer. It does the same stuff, just to a lesser degree than the crack. What's the point of loosening my texture, weakening my hair and thinning my strands, if I can achieve the best of both worlds my reversibly flat ironing my hair? It seems pointless.
So, like I said, probably not.

I don't say this word to often.... but I will NEVER relax again and if I could go back in time I would have stayed natural my entire life. Relaxers are not for me!

Wow, this was while I was debating on going natural and I finally made the decision on August the 22. My last relaxer was July 18th. I really can't see myself going back.

My mom said yesterday that she thinks I'll stay natural for a few years and then relax again. I'll never say never, but I can honestly say that I think she's wrong...

I've been natural for two years and loving it!!  My hair suffered too much damage with relaxers for me to turn back.  Not to mention, I love my natural hair texture.  Its far softer natural than it is chemically treated.

I was natural for about four years relaxed after I had my daughter in september 2010 and boy did I regret it I'm not sure if it was because my body was going back through hormonal changes but I am now growing my hair back I cut my hair off like low ceasar style and its been almost a year march to be exact I think I will have abour six inches by then. Its a process but with protective styling and some megatek bopefully it'll be back how it was and better.

I've been transitioning to natural since August. However, I am not wearing my hair out yet!I'm using wigs for now. My hair is almost shoulder length now (when blowdried lightly) and the relaxed ends make up about 35%. So I'm 65% natural. My texture has changed slightly - appears more manageable and my hair is much softer and stronger at the same time. I love how it springs/shinks back when stretched out but feels healthy. I can't wait for it to grow! I'm no longer afraid of it! Smile
