Sooo no job is better than a part-time job or hell 2 part-time jobs since u dont want to travel an hr for one.

What's the point of working if you make $1250/month but your daycare is also $1250/month? It seems you're working just to have some one watch your kids.

Is that expense list is accurate than there is a way by cutting down on luxury items she cannot afford. She said 1 part-time job wouldn't cover rent...you were offered two. These were jobs that were hers to lose but she declined both. Why not try doing both? Its not like she wouldn't have it...what is the baby father doing when not in the studio? Is there no family she trust that she could pay a lower cost?

The idea that since this isnt what i want ill do nothing approach doesn't fly for me. This money wasnt/isnt going to last forever. ..whats her plan then?

Part time job could have turned into a full time gig or could have been a nice launching pad for something.

What's the point of working?
-To be a contributing citizen
-To show your children a good example of what a parent should be doing
-To have job experience to put on your resume so that you can hopefully snag another better job
-To network with others (bosses, coworkers, adults in general) who may be able to direct you to job opportunities or other avenues of success
-To contribute to the social security system
-To have proof of income that might be required to make access to government assistance programs (like cash welfare, housing, medical insurance, etc.)
-To have the satisfaction of doing a job well and being part of the solution to your difficult situation

The cost of living in AZ is not as high as DC, NY, Chicago.  My friend was paying around $800 per month for daycare for her 2 children. She keeps presenting, excuse after excuse for not getting her sh*t together.
Her sperm donor also needs to chip in with the expenses and daycare. She needs to down load a budgeting app.

DES Child Care

Description of Services

The purpose of DES Child Care is to assist eligible families with child care costs, enabling parents to participate in employment and specific education and training activities related to employment, or in certain other circumstances when parents are unable to provide care. Families may choose from a variety of child care providers including Department of Health Services (DHS) licensed child care centers, DHS-certified child care group homes, DES-certified small family child care homes, and in some instances, non-certified relatives. Eligibility requirements vary with each program.

DES Child Care Services may be provided for the following eligible activities or needs:

  1. Participation in DES Jobs Program.
  2. Employment.
  3. Eligible education and training activities related to employment when working a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  4. High school, GED or remedial education classes for teen parents.
  5. Unable or unavailable to provide care for children due to a physical, mental, or emotional condition, participation in a drug treatment or rehabilitation program, or a court order community service program.
  6. Residency in a homeless or domestic violence shelter.
  7. Other needs as determined by The Department of Child Safety (DCS).

Child care is provided for a portion of a 24-hour day when neither parent is available to provide care due to participation in eligible activities or needs listed above.

Eligibility requirements vary with each program. Some programs have income eligibility requirements based on family size and gross income, and may require that family to pay a portion of the child care costs.

You don't qualify for any of that if you have $100,000.

I think she's living beyond her means, but I think it's ridiculous how people are acting like they expected a damn monthly statement showing what each penny of her money went to.

This was not an investment. This was not money sent by the government. This was not even money she begged for. This was money people GAVE her of their own choice to help her get on her feet. She's getting on her feet. She's no longer homeless. You don't get the opportunity to make people spend money the way you see fit after you've given it to them. People could have donated clothes, toiletries, diapers, etc if they wanted to. They chose to donate money. THEY chose money. It's her's now.

Lesson learned. Don't donate your coins anymore if the fact that you can't dictate how the funds are spent is troubling to you.
