They're all pretty, no doubt, but I don't think I'd find myself being wowed or catching the gay over any of them if I saw them in person.

Yes, and that's exactly what White Americans think about these pagents.
 
The contests should truely represent the people in the country so if America is 80% White (more or less) then how is it that Vanessa Williams won the pagent?

that wasn't what I was suggesting. Not saying that South Africa or America can't send a white or black representative. I'm talking about the lack of variety in these pageants. All these girls look the same. Where are the black girls with curves (which is the norm in most black communities), where are the heavier set women (which is the norm in society). where are the pale blonde girls wit even lighter features (which is the norm in some northern european countries)
