you know what I always notice? how many words in English have roots in latin--so if you know a romance language a lot of words sound the same.

like the word dolor that lies just posted--duleur is a word in French and means pain.

my dh said a few months ago he wanted us to re-start our WOTD-I'm gonna steal some words from here. i used to write the words down and keep a list near my computer--so that I could see them and use them in correspondence.

anyway will be lurking this thread. i love words.

^^^very true. we were taught this in one of my english classes, given a language tree and the standard prefix/suffix rundown. it's interesting how if you're in contact with all of that just enough, you can discern meanings/spellings of words you've never heard.  word to akeelah and the bee.

and pitty, you betta post up.

I love it when I perambulate my room and touch my body with my hands, so pinnate and dainty. But my cousin is always fuccing the moment up when she walks through the door when I am having private time. my face slowly changes from cute to scrunching with dolor and confusion because this stewpid beeotch who is the complete antithesis of my physicality totally ruined everything
