A woman was mauled to death by a lion as she made love outdoors with her boyfriend.

Sharai Mawera died at the scene of the attack in a secluded area near the town of Kariba in Zimbabwe.

Her boyfriend, who has not been named, was reported by the My Zimbabwe news website to have fled into bushland before raising the alarm.

Police and rangers from the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority rushed to the scene, where they found Mawera’s body.

Rangers are hunting for the lion amid concern that the same animal may have killed a man at the weekend. The remains of the victim were found on Tuesday on the outskirts of Kariba, which is near the Zambezi river.

Police believe the man, who has not been named, was mauled by a lion as he walked home from a nightclub.

Why do people always seem surprised when a wild animal attacks a person? It's a wild animal. Someone else got mauled by a tiger in California today too.

I have to agree with Kat Williams on this one, you shouldn't be surprised when the king of the jungle and/or his counterparts go on the hunt.
