its not forced in the US..
unless you have a big party.

i had no idea about europe though and that was an interesting read…
i feel a little cheated because those meals were pretty pricey.. and euros are already more than US..
and them exchange rates (depending on where..) sometimes kicked my ass.
i would have still tipped probably but less…

I'm saying!!

obviously it is optional here for the most part (except for very large parties).  no one is going to arrest you for not tipping.
however, like you have already said the workers there are paid fairly and thus the cost of the food is more expensive.  you also know that is not the case here.  the workers being paid fairly that is thus the food is cheaper.  if the workers here were paid more the price would surely go up.  so...

you are forced to if it's in your bill right? In the food price?

You are not forced if you have the option to leave $0, $1, $10 or $100 on the table

If people can't be courteous then yes unfortunately they should be forced

nor would i.  which is why i have no problem adding a tip to the price of a slice of pizza if it is being served in an establishment where i KNOW the workers are being paid on tips.

I don't think it's courteous or good to tip.

I think it directly plays into the hand of owners and the people who profit from the work of their underpaid employees.

but you aren't paying $5 a slice though

You can get a large pizza for $5

If you don't tip some workers earned $2 that hour... that counts as servitude to me

Other people don't, but I do. I try my hardest to vote with my dollars. So I make it a mission to try to only patronize places that fall in line with my beliefs.

Not saying I'm perfect in it at all, but I do try. And when it can't be done, I tip. I'm just saying I think it's completely backwards.
