BTW, who cares what white people problems are? There is no need to compare ourselves to them...let's handle our own community first.

The black community as a whole still has a juvenile mentality...maybe we need another MLK or black leader. Confused

Just about equal to their incarceration numbers.

The 2nd bolded doesnt even make sense.

Can't even believe I'm agreeing with anything sache says...

But the 2nd bolded DOES make sense. In the hood (not necessarily with upwardly mobile members of the black community), there's a culture of "get money - spend money", showing off, keeping up with the jones', not focusing on the future and living in the moment to the point that you don't plan for the "what if's" of life.

It's juvenile & ignorant to link up with a dude that you've seen hook up with five other girls on your block - yet these girls do it all the time. It's ignorant to have unprotected sex with girls you don't even like AND shoot off in them without caring about the consequences as long as "you get that nut off". It's juvenile to nurture a culture of "let's get in a fight and video tape it so we can post it to WSHH" youth.

^^^All of that is a juvenile mentality that is glorified in the lower income community and music - specifically hiphop which is what most people in the neighborhoods are listening to.

Let's reference the "grammar" thread you made...the intention was good, but delivery was bad....Bill Cosby-ish. We hate being called out on our BS.

Music is a powerful agent....we need to watch what we listen to. Chief Keef and Lil' Mouse...they aren't even grown men rapping about flipping bricks, smashing heauxz and smoking weed. "Popping Molly" is cool. I try to keep the ignorant hype music for the gym only. Dead I stick to old school R&B and soul.

Also these ignorant shows black women like to support....VH1 and TLC reality shows. Sleepy

Sache and Model - The black community is not a monolith.  If y'all want to say that HUMANS have a juvenile mentality thats fine.  I could make this same stupid argument about the black community and religion and I would be still overstating a small point about the maturity of thoughts and ideas over CULTURE.

this is a huge problem we should discuss...i wish there was more family support so these children wouldn't have to be in foster care.  but the gov will also try to find a way for the family to be unfit.

It can...but when you examine the potential lifestyle negatives on a racial perspective, (i.e. incarceration, achievement gap, unemployment, single parents, etc) somehow black people are getting beat down by these minuses more/at a higher rate than our racial counterparts.

So, let's stop being PC and call a spade a space.

When you actually locate the spade, I will, but you got a hand full of clubs and don't know it.

it already is a problem, Dept of Child services disqualify most grand parents, they have to take their foster care program (pay for it) to even get their own grand kids once they get in the system.. so basically its like when they broke up the family in slave time by sending them every where and not with the family.. They would rather a foster family adopt those black kids then their own grand parents and/or family.. its a serious problem..

None of which has anything to do with their level of maturity as a community and EVERYTHING thing to do with things that have already been said in this very thread.
