i'm interested, what am i wrong about?and afro, okay. since you seem so concerned. you're "rich", create an organization to help spread sex education. | rich is nothing to do with it
but, im in public health for a reason love
and i am concerned about the wider determinants of health that affect us as black people first and foremost and everybody else second
and trust me, i will be doing the most that i can in my field.. when i die, they'll write books about me, my life will mean something on the public health front

Make sure i get a shout out in the BHM chapter

I think people are driven to put their emotional needs before any other.. psychologically they do what makes them feel good in the moment..
Some people who feel they don't have many life options see having multiple children as a means of social warfare or rebellion against the state. This is not the case for everyone but the rhetoric is there
Too much focus on women as the source of the problem, statistics have shown that women without education tend to have more children
The capitalist system relies on a large, fertile labor force to maintain itself that's why 90% of the worlds growing population are brown but the people who hold the wealth are north/western european and planning their families
They say they want less unplanned pregnancies but chances are if you are poor you are having sex crammed down your throat
That said I think that you cannot neglect the role of individual behavior and mentality in solving the reason why people have unplanned pregnancies.. I mean I too like a lot of people thought it was the result of external forces until I witnessed firsthand the sheer lunacy of choices made by some people to get pregnant.. I mean choices so bad that there is simply no way that either of the two people involved could have convinced themselves the pregnancy was a good idea unless they were simply lying to themselves. I thought I was being judgmental and classist and with support the parents would be motivated to be good parents to their children. But currently, most of them using drugs during their pregnancy or bragging about how they do it around their children.

In a society where women are blacks and systematically payed less, this thread is comical...being this is a site for black women.

I'm so confused.....I thought everyone agreed that you shouldn't have kids if you can't provide for them you don't have to be rich but, the basics should be covered. I know a lot of people on bhm think parents should pay for college so....I'm kinda confused. |
I believe this applies to ppl who have the tools and mental ability to establish themselves, and not everyone has that...So alot of it is misdirected

All of you guys shouldn't all be here then, well no one should...
Procreation isn't a <span style="line-height: 22px;">privilege</span>
Before things need for basic living became a commodity, and before there was even a "rich and poor"...Procreation is how we survived, your family or village was all you had to live because everyone had a role in contributing those basic things...

Its 2013 A.D NOT 2013 B.C |
This still goes on today...If there were no poor ppl making poor kids, you wouldn't be sitting here with your privileged American behind on a computer or phone that a person or child living in poverty made...
Like someone else said, poor ppl make the world go round, and that's why no one realize cares to educate them, but instead add fuel to their detrimental behavior... | Computers will replace them soon enough and they will be unneeded.
