Exactly, but its so hard to find out when these events happen. Usually they fly under the radar and don't even get a mention in the daily newspaper.  I went to my cities african american movie festival and it was mostly white folks in there Cry so if they know about it, then there is no excuse for us not to. Plus, some of those movies/short clips were fairly good movies.

I've been saying this for the longest, Black movies really do suck nowadays! Actually a lot of non-black movies suck too. Movies in general now just suck. No one is trying to take their time and make good movies; everything lately has been a big disappointment. I'd rather watch the bootleg online lol.

black 90s movies weren't that amazing. I watched the one with Tupac and I was like meh, when everyone else was saying it was a great.

Juice was a good black movie
The Wood was a good black movie
Miracle on St. Anna was a good black movie
Fresh was a good black movie
What's Love Got To Do With It was a good black movie
Ray was a good black movie
Pride was a good black movie
Above the Rim was a good black movie
The Color Purple was a good black movie
New Jack City was a good black movie
Love and Basketball was a good black movie (and it is my favorite how could I forget it)
Love Jones was a good black movie

I agree, Tyler Perry movies are the same and not fun to watch anymore. I'm tired of the same storylines.
There have been some black movies but most of the black movies that aren't Biography then they are comedies or dramas based on the things most black people seem to relate to.....and that is where the stereotypes come in because not all black people can relate or not all black people care to watch something so relevant to their lives. I believe there needs to be more black movies that are out of the box and I believe they could be supported but it will take time. And NOT all good movies make it to the big screen...I find many really good movies that go straight to DVD so you can still support and buy the DVD and watch. I hope they begin to surface though.
