I live less than a mile outside city limits.  I love it.  Quiet.  Safe.  Gorgeous manicured trails, live by a lake.  My kids schools are amazing.  They can play outside.  The house is big enough that we ain't breathing up in each other's faces all the time.

BUT when we want to shop, go on fun dates, drink too much and need to get a cab home - it ain't that far.  Best of both worlds.

These taxes though.....

i was just looking up home prices in Fairfax. It's as expensive as living in DC

I believe the reason a lot of folks took shots at this 'easy' instance and not the greater things happening in our community is because of the press and the pressure.  We don't hear the ins and outs of housing discrimination when we tune into the news and there's no comparison in the pressure put on the NBA to the pressure being put on these real estate moguls and cities to do something about it.
