The work wasn't really tough, but my first semester was tough because I was working 2 jobs in addition to too many classes.

Just start joining in events: chess club, sororities, etc. that your college has if your lacking in the social part. When you start to get active you make a name for yourself and the more people see you the more they'll want to talk to you especially if you have good energy.
College was and always has been easy, its just staying committed and studying that's the hard part. It's even harder when you have no one pushing you like in High School and the years before.

no, I actually loved my first semester of college

it went to sh*t after that (not grades wise, well okay my sophomore year I had a 3.3 so my grades did go down, but they were better my junior and senior year)

are you in a London-based uni amy? there's always lots to do in the city and like someone already suggested, you could always join some societies/clubs

I've joined some but they seem dis-organised. I don't know when any meetings are going to take place

No, i'm not. London is boring if you don't have anyone to go with to places lol.
