I have always been 'grown up'.

I grew up in a household of generations.

Someone always had to be cared for. It's just the way it was.

Being responsible for someone or something matures you.

Childhood intermingled with responsibilities .... It's all good !!!

Maturity to me is able to maintain a certain level of your responsibilities and survival. That's being mature. Other than that there are plenty of subjective views on what defines maturity.

When both my parents died.  Up until then, I was always a bit of a kid at heart.  Now, not so much.

I would say when I got my first "real" job, so 28? I didn't feel like a real adult until then. Now people call me ma'am. Ugh! BTW, I'm still 28.
