I know I've heard many times of people saying, "He/she was not what I expected" or "I had my list of what I wanted in a partner but when I found my husband/wife it was the opposite" or "He/she was under my nose the whole time and finally realized he/she was perfect for me". When dating, dealing with relationships and falling in love, should you expect the unexpected, have an idea of who you want or is better to not have a predetermined idea of what and who you want because you could miss your perfect person for you? What are your thoughts?

Example: You want a guy who is 6'6, has a great body, athletic, makes six figures but you completely overlook the security guy at your job who is working his way through law school and is 5'9, god-fearing, nice body, attractive, etc  because he's not who you want in your mind.

I say be concerned with what you don't want. Unemployed, abuser, liar, etc. Open yourself to what is out there and not be as specific on the other things.

It's kind of like house hunting. You will fall in love with something that is not exactly what you were looking for but fits you perfectly.

agreed. and even if you get what you want at first... they will get knocked off of that pedestal quickly.

I have no idea. I actually think I met my soul mate at 22 but I wouldn't give him a chance over some superficial stuff.

LOL  what is the conversation like in your head?  how do you determine he's just the right amount of attractive?  70% is a C.  he has probably had even less attractive sex partners. Stern Smile

LOL, I kinda follow that rule. Not so much because of the increased possibility of hoeing but because every time I dated a pretty boy, they always ended up being too narcissistic for my taste. I think it has something to do with everone fawning over you from a young age, I don't know... Ridiculously pretty boys are strictly for fuccin.

I think you should have a clear idea of what you want; and... (well I'll leave it at that)
