I wasn't asking about how the words sound, rather the meaning of the word. Variations of the mainstream or "standard" language don't change the meaning of the intended word.

you know you're wrong. This is another case of intent vs impact

How? Most people have an accent or present with a dialect that differs from what is considered "standard." Hell, I do not think the majority of English speakers speak standard English. How can you say that "I am swimmin' today" does not have the same meaning as "I am swimming today"?

the G is there for a reason. it is not meant to be silent like lasagne. We should not change rules because ppl refuse to pronounce things correctly. Regardless of where you are from, the word IS the word. Swim in is different from swimming. swimmin is not a word

sucks that she lost but this is a game that deals with correct spelling and pronunciation. They can't make regional exceptions then errbody would be blaming their accent when they really did get it wrong. They even stop having "Slang" phrases to avoid this sort of thing.

Bunny I have to agree.....even if the woman said lasagna like la-sag-nee they still wouldn't give it to her. I watched WoF with my gramma since I was little.....you have to pronounce it right.

I would not give it to them if the puzzles were
Trimming the Christmas Tree
Rinsing the dishes
and they answered
Trimming the chrimuh tree
or
wrinching the dishes
