Did they ever try and "hook you up"? Did they ever tell you what type of man/woman that they want to see you with?
How well does their ideal partner match up with your partner, or the people whom you date?

my parents never really named a profession
actually, my parents have never actually disapproved of any guys I have brought around them, friend or guy I was seeing

My mom wanted me to be with a nerdy type. My dad wanted someone who would adore his baby. edit to finish answering. Well Hubby isn't nerdy at ALL! He is smart, but more physical. My Daddy got what he wanted  .

My mom wants me to be with a smart, loyal man who loves the lord. She's also told me several times that she doubts that he'll be black.
One of my cousins thinks I'm going to end up with a nerdy guy, and she says if he is black he won't be American black.  |

Mostly my mother wants me to be with someone who is a doctor or someone who is educated and has lots of money. Current SO has no degree, works full time, has health insurance and treats me very well. I try to tell my mom that money isn't everything, but she's hard headed
