I asked this question only because I had to stop and ask myself the same question. Usually when I would think of "doing" something for God, it consisted of me living right, reflecting a proper image and doing the commandments that are in the Bible. Those are all basically selfish acts because they benefit me. But what about selfless acts. Things that really make God smile because you are doing something
to benefit someone other than yourself
I am reading a book for my class that got me to thinking. The book posed these two questions. First, if you could do anything at all for God, without any limitations, what would it be? That thing is your calling. Second, how has God gifted you to accomplish your calling? Then it went on to discuss taking the necessary steps to "do" that thing.
