Hey ladies!!

So I've been thinking, since I haven't been buying any hair as of late - what does quality/premium hair mean to those who purchase hair in 2014?  The market is overly saturated with American AND Chinese vendors pushing hair, what are the true terms of quality/ premium hair?

When I first start buying "premium extensions", the market was no where near what it is today (abundance of lack luster and or knowledgeable vendors), the term quality hair, IMO, actually stood for something.  It seems to me that it's used so loosely for the sake of making a buck.  Many of these vendors selling hair have NO CLUE about hair let alone the product they sell, so it's a huge ball of confusion for those purchasing.

IMO, quality should directly fall in line with the integrity of the company but that is so far from the truth today, it just leaves little to be desired in the hair market.

So what does "quality/premium hair" mean to you?

Quality/premium hair to me means, thick full hair little to no short hairs, excellent wefts and cuticle aligned. My biggest pet peeve with vendors is the lack of honesty and integrity with their products. This hair game has been a major turn off for me in the past 2 yrs. I had made 3 purchases this yr, one complete bundle set from a group order and 2 supplements from an AV. I ended up selling the supplements due to various reasons but it had to with customer service and integrity. I'm at a point now where I'm not even interested in spending my hard earned money buying hair.

Quality Premium from these so call vendors is considered the holy grail of all hairs. No shedding...no tangling..no long beards...no split ends. Wefts constructed to last long . Hair is aligned. But when u receive the hair its the total opposite.

I feel you on the term "quality hair", it seems like just because it lasts 6 months they deem it quality.

Things that I consider good quality hair must have:
It needs to last more than 1 year
No shedding
No tangling
Deposit/lift colors easily
Cuticles aligned
Weft construction nice and neat

Things I prefer out of good quality hair but still some good quality hair had issues with these things:
No long beards
No thin ends
No awful smell
No short hairs throughout
Minimal gray hairs

It seems to mean what it used to mean for Wagman's, Bliss and Mane Depot.
Now it is a signal to "run"!

I think it's just a marketing ploy. Virgin and remi/remy are thrown around so much, they need a new term.

What Ms.Blue said.  I am thoroughly disgusted with the hair game as it is today (vs when I first 'got on board' in 2010, when it was already going downhill ).  My own hair is a thinning, frizzy, medically challenged MESS, but I am rocking that vs. taking more chances and wasting more money, on Chinese vendors.  I'm holding on to one stash of EP hair to make a wig from, and other than that.... I might buy from a member, but... new?  No I just can't seem to do it anymore.  'Premium hair' these days grows on fairy Unicorns....

LOL  Okay well it's good to see that I am not the only suffering here.  It's hard to find true quality premium hair.  There is nothing wrong for those who like the hair that truly isn't quality in terms of weft construction & durability; condition of hair, ends, cuticle alignment; honesty on the status of the hair - processed or authentically virgin.

When I think premium, quality hair vendors - the only names that come to mind are Extensions Plus and Bliss.  No other companies come into that realm of true honesty with their hair.  There are other good quality hair vendors but they aren't on the level of these companies.  I've said this before but I long for the days of Nature Girl.  Even back when I got into premium hair (2004) the American Vendors at least offered a good product - now it's impossible and the cost is ridiculous.

I take into the account the demand but also the number of vendors as well.  It's too much foolery and I don't think I have the patience for it like I used to.
