Recently I was having a similar problem with my hair most likely using Coconut Oil too often. I switched to EVOO, Jojoba Oil, and Glycerin mixed with my Leave-In and water. Castor oil on my ends keep them from drying out and breaking. I have heard Aloe Vera is good for dry or flaking scalp.

Good Luck

I have a 5  pound block of pure Shea butter that has  been in the vegetable bin for months. Today, I put a bit of it in the blender with some coconut oil and some other liquid oils. I want to add delicious essential oils to it to when I get some. It made a wonderful, fluffy cream that I used from head to toe after my bath. It made my skin so shiny, dewy   and soft. It even made my Senegalese twists softer and shiny. It smells like a cross between coco butter and coconut oil somehow. I LOVE it! This will definitely be a regular part of my regimen.
