Hey!! I'm up to 300lb ATG . . When hitting for reps I keep it around 225-250. This is more of a power squat (barbell on back)

* bows to weave queen* We Arent Worthy of your awesomeness!!!!!!
Gotdam that is a lot of weight girl, congrats :) were you just steadily able to add weight every workout or did you have to slow down once you get to higher #s? And im just curious, i know you said you work your arms/ upper body 2x a week but you look so streamlined and not bulky! Do you do lower weight/ higher reps on your upper body?
Thanks again for sharing your success story with everyone :) its a huge step in the right direction for many of us, new and old members!!

Babygurl....you know I'm in. *bowing to weavequeen also* I am currently doing a lower body HIIT program of century sets (10 sets of 10) incorporated with an 1700cal/day clean diet. This is for minor muscle gains, mostly maintaining muscle, and focusing on loosing body fat. I am also running a full body lifting circuit in addition to the HIIT. Trying to get bikini ready for summer now that I have my noogle :) But......when I do my heavy lifting, I do 225lb barbell squats, reg and sumo 5x12, 125lb deadlifts5x12, SL deadlifts supersetted with reverse lung 55lb db 5x12, 135lb hip abductor 5x12, 175lb hip thrust 5x12. I usually dont make it to the 5th set, but I try. All sets are till failure. I am about to take out squats and re-add reverse lunges in smith machine with correct form 145lbs, and leg press 300lbs. Starting with SL leg press 150lbs. I am planning to start this all back up (hopefully in march or early april) once I shed this belly and then I am going to bulk up again the right way.

Thanks Girl Adding on the weight is done gradually. I DID NOT start out squatting 300lbs!! I did an upper/lower body circuit split until November of last year. Now when I lift I isolate body parts (ex:sat - squats/legs focus on quads, sun - shoulders/tris, mon - back/bis, tues - chest/tri's wed - dead's/legs, focus on hams) From week to week this order is switched up. The amount of weight/rep range varies for me with isolating muscle groups When I did a circuit type of lifting, I did an upper/lower body day that was HEAVY (8 rep range) and I did an upper/lower body day that was moderate heavy (12-15 rep)

Darn I feel weak i here.. I'm stuck at 185 lbs squat, 4-5 reps at most ATG. I've been wanting to wait til I can do 8 full reps at 185 before I increase but I've been stuck for a while. =[

Why wait?? I would continue with your lifting routine. I wouldn't wait until you shed the belly fat

Just keep at it! What other excercises do you do for your lower body? There are things you can do that can help with your squat and adding weight.
