Okay...so I'm deciding to go back to school...I wanna go to be a RN..
My fam advised me to go for 2 years instead of 4 :/ because i got 2 kids and a husband..
I need a job...car.....then school. This ish's confusin...somebody help meh. |
Ok.
let's see
if you go back to school you'll get financial aid
so why dont u use your excess fin aid money to get a lil hoopty
can hubby pick up a few extra hours at work? No, already works fulltime and not enough pay.
how old are the babies? 2 and 4
do you have a support system in place? uhhh...
do you have a skill? something that you can get your hustle on with?
doing hair? washing cars? cleaning homes etc? hair and cleaning houses, which i gotta clean a house this upcoming monday.
the 2 year LPN program is probably your best bet because u do have kids
and you can always take a few certifications for another year to become an RN I read online that LPN's dont get hired no more...I searched online for this one college, and it does a 2year RN program ALSO..I used to go to a college online...dropped out...I think I owe money...bad BAD... sooo does this mean my FA might not be of much help since I owe? I went to online school back in 2010 btw. |
|
What shift does you husband work?
What about doing a small home daycare in your home? and take classes online or at night?
Do you owe money back to the school or the government?
If it's the government, have you tried the deferment program? Once enrolled, you can reapply for FA.

Don't give up momma... I'm living proof it can be done.
I put school off for years after a tragic accident in my life. When I got ready to go back, I thought and let everything hold me back. But it can be done.
I had to make some sacrifices, but it will be worth it in the end. With the lack of a local support system, the hardest thing for me to do was send my daughter to live with my mom so I could finish school. Good thing is that my mom only lives 1hr away. I just hate that I only get 2-3 days a week to spend with my baby girl.
As of now, I've got 2 more semesters to go. Until then I just hold on to my faith... God didn't bring me this far to FAIL!!!

Call FAFSA and find out your status RIGHT NOW!!!!.
You really don't know how to proceed until you complete this step. They will be able to tell if and what you may owe if there it is federal. You can find information on the deferment program from them as well. You do qualify by not working and having 2 kids regardless of your marital status.
If money is not federal, the call the school you last went to and find out how much you owe. If it is money owed to the school, then yes you will have to repay them before reapply for FA or other school. Repay them with you income tax if possible.
Regardless, make sure you reapply for FAFSA asap. You can apply for the upcoming term as early as January 1, 2013. The sooner the better... Also research the hell out of scholarships while you have time on your hands. Apply early, deadlines are approaching.

What about you opening a small home daycare in your home? Maybe 3-5 kids. Charge anywhere from $300 - $500 a month per child depending on your area. People are always going to need a sitter.
Both my mother and my grandmother ran home daycares and made great money... Plus they still had time for thier husband, kids, church, etc.
