I agree. The man is trying to bring something new back to BET and people can't even support but always talking about how blacks are viewed in the industry. Instead of understanding WHY he left CNN to come to BET you call him dumb for leaving. I'm sure he knew there was a risk, because black people rarely support their own, but guess he wanted to try anyway. If you don't want to watch, and you have more than one tv in your own, then maybe consider turning it to the channel on that other tv so it wont interfere with your show and the brother can stay on the air.

I'm pretty sure it only makes a difference if you have Neilson box unless something's changed since I last checked.

| This is not about blacks not supporting their own, it's about a mismatched demographic. The types of black people who would watch his show aren't the types that watch BET.
When I saw an ad for his show on the BET Awards I wanted to watch, but that's the only time of the year that channel gets played on my tv so I didn't know when it aired. It's likely something similar happened with others.

Where is the thread from like a year ago that predicted this would happen. We were told to shut up, the show would work, that his move from CNN wasnt career suicide

Well I'm supporting, I really hope he makes it. I like his show... Hopefully he gets your support as well BHM.. The problem is it's 30 minutes, and should come on at 8-10 pm

exactly. it's not that Black people are unwilling to support but, I had
no idea this show was even on the air because I don't watch BET at
all. BET needs to promote. Based on the quote in the OP it shows that they expected
it to fill a niche in the black community for a Jon Stewart or Stephen
Colbert? I just don't think the demo of BET are a fan of that brand of humor infused with
politics. When did it air? 11 pm. Who remembers to tune into that? BET has alienated a lot of the (educated, older)Black population by their actions so it's difficult to try to bring in this show to a group of watchers you lost a long time ago. Didn't they get flack for not airing Coretta Scott King's funeral like other major networks? Didn't they run videos or something instead? this is BET.
