I was wondering where this "new Black" stuff came from. Well, I blame society for inequality while trying to overcome it. Black people that turn a blind eye to racism annoy me. That sh!t is real. Society thinks racism is just calling you the n-word. No racism is the systematic oppression. That has not gone away, but Pharrell still makes good music. Smile

+me. We should do better, for us. When we talk about doing better, people automatically draw some comparisons to white folk --"oh, they ghetto too", when thats not the point. I dont care about what they are doing. I care about us.

nice avi. I have no answer to that, im not saying folks never lost money either. All i can recall reading is the US mail fraud charge business was phuckery and the evidence proved otherwise and that efforts are underway to clear that up. I'm no garvey scholar. This is me recalling primary school socialstudies, that bustamante movie and a few chapters from Seaga's book plus a few pages of one of the manley's book and some gleaner articles. I should head downtown to the Garvey place and see whats up though

CB sorry for the thread hijack

Some good history lessons in here.   Love reading up on this stuff.
Pharrel is officially a coon.  He doesn't qualify for the naïve/ignorant category.  His ancient ass should know better at his age.  He's just an idiot.

@Diane, wow, you guys learn this stuff in elementary school? African American kids should learn about Malcolm X, Marthin Luther King and others in elementary school as well.

And no, you did not hijack the thread, the OP discussed the Talented Tenth, which could have been the leaders of the black people, and then creole made a point saying that she is tired of hearing about blacks doing better, it is time blacks just do better, meaning to act!

we had a hard time getting people on board with economic boycotts of SC too during the confederate flag issue.  Some folks are still mad at the NCAA.
