No, because it's a chemical. Wait a until your relaxer grows out and get it professionally done of course.

By perm do you mean a straight perm/relaxer?
If so, then no because Wave Nouveaus & all other kind of curly perms use different chemicals to relaxers. There's too great a risk that you would experience severe breakage plus areas of hair or ends that don't curl.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone out there know of a stylist in the Atlanta area that specializes in Body Waves, specifically Wave Nouveau? I had one years ago and I would like to have it again. I've not had any chemicals for 2 years, currently wearing a lace wig. The only wave nouveau I see is the coffiture and I am not sure what that is. It looks very dry, almost kinky in the photos................. someone, anyone,,,, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! I want this lace wig gone by summer

no you cannot, there are two separate types of relaxers used. In perms, calcium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide are used in wave nouveau and "dry perms" like carefree curl and wet and wavy styles (permanent wave), ammonia thioglycolate... If you don't start fresh, you will go bald, the mixture of the two chemicals do not mix well and you hair won't be thick, strong, and will be brittle and eventually, you'll lose your hair.
I had a wave nouveau for almost 8 years, wanted to perm, cut all of my hair off, went natural for almost 2 years and now I'm back to carefree curl, my hair grows like a weed with the dry curls, i'm already at shoulder length
hope this helps!
