Hi ladies
I just recently made my first non bss hair purchaseSmile... I went with the Onyc Light Mongolian Relaxed Perm and I'm wondering should I wash this hair before installing it? because while I heard that I should I'm not so sure as what to wash it with?... With my beauty supply hair my stylist would just install it straight from the pack.
Thnks for any advice/ tips Wink

I always wash my non BSS purchases at least once before an install, condition, and as the previous person said, let it hair dry on a hanger - like the double clip type ones. I usually use Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. I also deep condition with Olive Oil Replenishing pack. Just put it in a ziploc bag, sometimes I submerge the bag in hot water, for about 15 minutes.

if it is your first non BSS hair it may be a case of not knowing since you just take BSS hair straight from the pack and use it. A girl I know had her hair processed to a curl and after she washed it said she is sorry she washed it that she should have just spritzed it so the curls would not fall

I just bought some purdy kc hair from a member and she's washed it, but I plan to wash it again using organix shampoo and aussie conditioner. I will place the hair in a large baggie and wrap a hot towel around it for deep conditioning with the aussie, then try this new leave in conditioner I bought from oyin on its ends, will dry hangin up. this is also one of my first virgin processed/good hair purchases

I think all hair should be washed thoroughly prior to wear, from BSS to so called virgin and everything in between. You don't know what residual chemicals are in it.
