uhmmm, why wouldn't I? Soap, water, a drain..Same set up as the bathroom sink. I'm not washing my hands over the food before I cook it. What's supposed to happen when I wash my hands in the kitchen sink? Are the germs going to pop up into the air and spread spores or something all over the kitchen?

for the posters who said they dont wash their hands in the kitchen sink, i didnt read it as them going back and forth while cooking. I would think they meant just randomly washing their hands whenever.

Purp, I don't wear gloves for handling raw meat. I just wash my hands before/after I finish handling it. So far no food illness lol. I may try it one of these days.

Why wouldn't you...?
Even if you are cooking or washing dishes, most likely your hands will touch the soap and water.
LOL I didn't know washing your hands was dirty.

Which is dirtier, washing your hands in the kitchen sink or not washing your hands at all when you cook?

I wear gloves when cooking because I don't like the feeling of stuff under my fingernails, but mainly because Indian/Jamaican food uses a lot of very hot pepper (Habanero), and the oils from the pepper can stay on your hands for hours even after thoroughly washing your hands. If you touch your body, you WILL feel the burning. You have to be very careful not to rub your eyes or use the restroom (pepper oil can transfer to the toilet tissue...yea). So as a safety measure we wear gloves.
...as for washing hands in the kitchen sink, I use moon tears.

Some of you are going to get wiped out when the next plague comes. Your immune system needs practice! Plus, there's really nasty stuff floating around everywhere no matter what you do. In fact, most of that nasty stuff floating around is from you. You are made up of nasty stuff.
