Ok, so there's these $0.99 pure sulfur bars of soap that my mom picks up to wash her face. And I hear alot about sulfur for hair, so what could be the outcomes if I wash my hair with pure sulfur soap??? And yea I know it's soap but it's just pure sulfur in soap form. So yeah, would it be good or bad to wash my hair with sulfur?

Emily, I don't know girlConfused. It sounds a little harsh to me! I'm more of a liquid type of girl...so I will watch your post, and see what the BHM family has to say about your question.

I know right, it seems like it would strip your hair. I did it once before but I don't remember how my hair came out because it was years ago, I didn't have and shampoo or conditioner and had had this gunk in my hair so I used it then but can't remember how it came out...=/

If you dilute it and only use it on your scalp, it might not be as drying.

I'm cautious of sulfur though :O I sniffed that stuff once and my nose didn't forgive me for two days. I use a sulfur mix on my scalp, but it's really thick and I make sure that when I wash it out, that it goes NOWHERE near my face XD Guess that's why I find it weird that someone would wash their face with it... D: but hey sulfur did me wrong before. Maybe it's not the same kind of sulfur though...(mine was the yellow powder).

I think you should buy the regular sublimed sulfur (amazon.com has some good deals), and do your own mix! That sulfur soap, just doesn't sound right using it on your hair. I will check back tomorrow and see what the BMH family's input is.

I use a sulfur oil growth aid on my scalp daily.  I also add sulfur to my poo mix which consists of ayurveda powders, oils, sulfur and condish.  My hair feels very soft afterwards.  Just make sure you add enough moisturizing elements to your mix.  I dunno if I'd ever use a bar though, I'm too afraid of drying out my hair.
