So I finally got the courage to fill a spray bottle with water/shampoo/ and conditioner and sprayed it mainly on my scalp. .. (My scalp has gotten real dry and flaky).  I let that sit for a little while , while also massasing it gently.

I did this monday night, then tue and wed. my head didnt itch as much. I also put some olive oil on my scalp.

Now, I have little white bulbs/flakes around the edges of my hairline at my roots where my braids start.

Anyone know how I can get rid of this and stop the itching for a good amount?  Now i have like little dry/flakey patches...almost like when you get a relaxer and it doesnt get washed out completly

to get rid of this problem I personally use a clarifying shampoo.
but I straight up wash it like I am washing my own hair. I put it around the edges, and massage it in gently, then rinse. Usually that solves the problem. then i put oil on my hair, Carol's daughter hair elixer.
solves the problem.
but if that doesn't work for you...you might have to take the braids out. wash your edges, and then put the braids back in.

when you say "bulb", it sounds to me like you are describing the root of the hair that has shed (or pulled depending on how your the hair is handled/treated) while in the braids

How long has your hair been braided for? And how do you style them, tie them down at night etc?

You should never have done this and left the shampoo in.   Shampoo is not designed to be left on your scalp/hair and then not rised out . Im not sure if u meant to do that or not.   Its ok to leave a leave in coditioner or conditioner /water mix on but does cause build up as well unless u have a good one.

im confused? Surely the OP rinsed the shampoo/conditioner mix out, right?? Otherwise would this defeat the purpose of washing the hair???

nizoral shampoo really helps with dandruff...for me anyways.  I don't put the nizoral on my hair. I just lather up my scalp real good,  let it sit on scalp for 5 minutes for it to work, then rinse thoroughly. Then i just  use my regular shampoo.

also I was not getting any hair growth when I was having scalp problems. I think my scalp problems came from using too many products and not rinsing out shampoo and conditioner completely out of my hair and scalp.

Keeping my scalp clean , using less products, and using the "keep it braided" method is strangely working for me when nothing else would.

lol sorry, yes I did wash it out :)
Since I wasn't taking a shower I just put my head over the kitchen sink.  I sprayed the mix in, massaged it a lil, then rinsed it out with water.

Last night, i actually washed my hair in the shower.  The flakes are gone, and tonight (since it was so late when I did this) Im going to put oil on my scalp and see how that goes.

Thanks.

You might need to start using sulfur 8 to get rid of the dandruff
