when i was young i used to go for about 5 weeks. Just because I had so much hair it took forever (in teenage time lol) to do it. My hair was actually really healthy. Rarely had breakage or anything

longer than a month and is your hair ok? Do you do this on a regular basis? I am considering doing this for all sorts of reasons. I dont mind that some people think it's ughDead if it works for me!

Thanks to everyone can't remember all the names to type but there are enough here that have done it for me to try it for myself. I think I will be better off. My hair does not like a lot of manipulation nor does it like being airdied particularly  and seems to thrive when not that clean.

I will wash my hair in 3 weeks time and see what my results are compared to my weekly washings. And if my hair is doing better I will stick to it. I have got a feeling though that after 2 weeks I will cave in and wash!

It probably depends on what products you are using, for example how heavy they are.  A friend of mine went about 6 or so weeks without washing because of health reasons without any breakage.

This is the exact reason washing weekly/daily isn't for everyone...but washing at home once a month works for me...only time i get a regular bi/weekly wash is when i go to the salon. Since, i havent been and keeping my hair in the sew-in im forced to wash with the sew-in. NO breakage or issues!

I used to wait that long all of the time, I had no problem with it my hair didn't smell and my scalp doesn't produce alot of sebum.  My sister washes her hair every 4-6 weeks and her hair is thick long and healthy.  She cut her hair to chin length this summer and its already back to APL.

I think it depends, especially if you are natural vs relaxed.

I go a month and more if I am in braids/weave and my hair does not break when I wash it. As a natural, to wash my hair too often would be counter productive and I believe too much manipulation for my hair. Also, I find that a "hands off" approach for a good few weeks + moisture+ growth aids really allows my hair to grow.

My hair is high maintenance and hard work: I cant afford the time to be washing it every other day! Plus I would prob be bald....
