    Posted: Jun 13 2009 at 7:39pm
Hi ladies, I'm trying to get my wags to porn status and I'm a little confused about how long I'm supposed to let the hair soak.

I have the bundle with nits soaking in a ziplock bag with olive oil only and I have the other 2 bundles soaking in acv and water (1 part acv to 3 parts water). Is this right???

I haven't shampooed it or anything I was going to do that after the soak.

Help me out ladies is this right?? Do I need to do anything else? I will take lots of pics when I'm done!!

You should go ahead and shampoo. The olive oil soak gets it slippery so the "debris" can slide off.  You should take a fine tooth comb and comb thru the hair and proceed to shampoo.  You should clarify again to remove the oil from the hair. You can ACV rinse again prior to deep conditioning...... Rinse with cool water (FINAL RINSE) to seal cuticles and scrunch (wet) and air dry.

Thanks for the info Missy. Big%20smile I used a toothbrush to get the nits off.(I have a box of them so it was brand new)LOL Now that bundle is soaking in the acv.

I'm washing the other 2 bundles with dove(blue bottle) and 1 bundle is curlier than the other 1. Pinch I only washed 2 times so far though.

I bought the Nexxus Humectress Moisturizing Spray and I got Sebastian anti-frizz cream. They both smell really good. As soon as I get done washing these 2 bundles I'm going to try to take pics with this macbook.

Try washing it with a detergent (but one that isn't drying) like Palmolive or Dawn.   There is a lot that has to come off it.   Besides for curls, it takes quite a few washes to get all the junk off to make the curls pop.   They're pretty now but wait till you see it after five plus washes.    You'll be happy you did it before your install.

If you were to soak it in ammonia you'd be surpised Dead at what comes off.   Not suggesting you do that at home, just saying.

Ms. Ricky you mean like tide or just like a dish detergent? I always did like the smell of tide! I don't see how you all wash the hair that many times. My arms are already tired.

I was talking about a degreasing dish washing soap but a fabric soap will work, since hair is a fibre but you have to MAKE SURE there is no bleach in it.

A clarifying shampoo will work really well too.

I use either the shower head or I use plastic containers.   Squeeze a little bit of shampoo/detergent into the plastic container, add warm water and you can soak, dunk and swish.

I will not have hair looking a hot mess so I have no limits to making it do, what it do LOL.
