^^ahh I see. No mocking someone's health status isn't funny -
ever. IMO, this commercial doesn't compare to a vaudville minstrel show
with ppl in black face or Abercrombie's Asian bashing screen print tees.
Jamaicans weren't presented as something
laughable/ridiculous/ignorant/etc. It was positive and IMO was no
different really than a tourism commercial that shows happy white ppl
visiting Jamaica and "laughing & frollicking (sp)" with Jamaicans on
the resorts/beaches/etc. Now we all know in real life, once
those vacationers come back to the US, they're NOT laughing &
frollicking with the local WI populations in their cities/towns.  ETA: One could make the claim that the official tourism commercials exploit the Jamaican population to be this smiling/shuck & jive set of ppl meant only to put smiles on the faces of white people who visit and contribute money to their economy. I doubt most ppl would make that claim. So that's why I don't really see this ad as offensive.
