No, I think he was trying for a German accent and failed miserably. Didn't anyone notice that in the end it shows something in German below the Volkswagen logo?

why would someone take offense to this? there are "white jamaicans"
i didnt see any weed, dreadlocks, or any other stereotypical "jamaican" stuff.

I agree with your statement. I like the commercial I have never viewed Jamaicans as simple acting. I see happy go lucky hard working people. And the commerical was more so making a reference to white folks not being so stuffy, but happier. The same thing happens when someone want to come off as tough or hip, they may use a thug black guy accent. And then when someone wants to portray stuffy or boring they use an stuffy white man accent.

i dont think were portrayed as simpletons --more like natives'...not the same...but that can get annoying too...
however, i really cant see what the harm in the ad is....so are we to be offended by all those movies in which actors portray us, or culture, etc?
