Wow. I see my hair as an example of silky 4a/b. I always thought I was a silky 4b but there aren't many people claiming this type. I have pen-spring sized coils with a high shine.

LOL sounds like the opposite of mine.. the top middle and back are 4a, feels great, very easy to style, but the sides, lawd...knotty, dry, wont curl up so it doesnt match the rest of my hair, it just won't do shyt lol

i think i am spongy overall though

THATS SOOOO MY HAIR! if u can imagine the hair u would shave off on the sides all the way back for a mohawk...that shyat is nappy as hayle!!!

does highly porous hair look different from hair w/ low porosity?
(or the other way around)

I would think lopo hair would be more shiny since the cuticles are supposed to be really flat. TBH, I'm not sure. My hair is lopo and it barely shines (or even has a sheen).

i have thready 4b/4c hair.  if i take my hair and pull it into a pony tail, it can look like i blow dried it when i take it down.  i have a weird amount of sheen so much so that people sometimes comment on its "shine."  and water just beads up on my hair, never feels fully wet.  instead, my hair is usually damp after a wash...dries in a decent amt of time, but the roots stay damp for a looong time!

i will take pics wet and dry for show and tell.
