Valentine's Day

I don't celebrate it

I like Vday.

But I didn't spend last year vday with my boo and I won't spend this one with him.
He's mailing my things home. I spend that time with my family since that's around the time my dad died.

Superbowl weekend >>>> Vday with us anyway.


But he still remembers to send a gift.

Of course we love each other year round but there are times when it's really nice to take some time out to say it and show it.  We always celebrate it.  We've gone to the same restaurant for 10 years on Valentines Day.  This thread reminded me to make the reservation.  It's a lovely seafood and steak house in a tiny town.  The restaurant is on the water.  It was such a big deal to us when we first got together and by far the most expensive meal we ate all year.  Now it's just sweet to go back and remember being 21 shelling out the big bucks to sit and look in each other's eyes.  I can't wait to do it again!  We both work, the kids are busy with sports and activities..... it's a nice reminder of where we came from.  Every year I love him more than the year before!

IMO our anniversary is more important and our birthdays are more important than VDay.

VDay is an arbitrary day that we've been told is meant to have significance. Whereas our anniversary and our birthdays are more personal and mean so much more.

But again, I don't throw shade at people who celebrate VDay or hold it to a high level.

Do unmarried couples do something special for the day they got together I guess a couples anniversary?

Lol I just remembered I have no clue what day we got together.
Maybe it will mean something to me when I get married , now I don't care
