when I wear my hair out, it's mostly just as is in a banana clip or updo

I've flat ironed my natural hair only a handful of times, I've done roller sets, used to do braidouts but not anymore

I'm 4z

are you talking about the hair typing thread:

yes, that's the one! thanks tatee!Smile

eta: judging from that thread, my hair is definitely spongy.

90% of the time I wash it and let it air dry. I've tried stretching it and can never get it right so I just said to myself fudge it.

I wish I could do this but I have way too much shrinkage.

whatchu mean? practically everything snatched up, pulled or raked stretches it.

well i don't do none of that.  since i came from a fade i have 4 different lengths and its not long enough to pull up into nothing or be snatched lol  i literally just wash and go and let it do what ever it wants.   its acting so funky bc its going through another awkward phase I've been wearing scarves.  Bout to make me a wig cause I can't deal

eta

cottony club! I have 4 a or b coils, fine hair diameter, low density

I wear it unstretched quite often.

Hair type is a combination type: 3(c) and 4(a)
My hair texture can be described as silky meets cottony in appearance, basically kinky curly.

I use bottled(now deionized) water and moisturizing conditioners for moisture.

Tried it once, never again. Type 4b, shrinkage would lead to breakage and detangling would be a beast.
