I know I have over 50 posts, but I have a question about moisturizing and sealing hair underneath my sew in. For my natural hair when its left out I usually use Elasta QP Mango Butter & Olive Oil moisturizer. I was wondering if I mixed some of this in a spray bottle with water and some essential oils (jojoba, tea tree) would this be a good concoction to moisturize my braid and scalp under my sew in daily?
I AM trying to find a new moisturizer because the Elasta QP & the Cantu I was going to try both contain alcohol. So recommendations of your favorite moisturizers and essential oils (especially for under sew-ins) are greatly appreciated!
Sorry for the ramble, TIA

I'd actually like to know this too. I was thinking about watering down leave-in conditioner, putting it in a dye bottle, and squirting it in, but if any one has better ideas please let me know! |
I am almost sure that you don't need that much moisture under your install. Even if your hair is super dry I cannot see you needing to wet your hair underneath EVERYDAY. I mean you would not do that if you did not have a weave in would you?
I hear alot of ladies using coconut oil and you can get that at any health food store. I put it on my leaveout when I was wearing curly hair and it stopped it from being dry. Check in the Natural Hair section.

can someone help me find a decent priced malaysian hair. in 12-16 inches. i was going to purchase from wags but the lady said it was like chinese and was very straight and had no wave when wet. from my research i though malay should have a slight wave when wet and is lighter then chinese. i always get straight hair and usually where it in curls. i dont get the curly hair cause my natural hair is usally left out and it is relaxed. so any recomendations for vendors or other companies or just some insight would be great. im new to the forum.. PLEASE HELP. my next install is in 3 week. thanks! :)

I wear Halley's Curls Virgin Malay. It has a slight wave when wet and when it dries it has a very soft natural wave. Very soft hair. It doesn't shed and I didn't seal my wefts! BUT if you want to order from them, you should do it soon bc it took me 2 weeks to receive my hair with paypal..HTH

Hey Ladies!
This is just a tip on how to keep your natural hair from blowing away from the weave hair when the wind blows! I was sitting here experimenting with my new purchase Organics Olive Oil Edge Control. It a soft holding gel from the line of Organics Olive Oil products..I put very little where my natural hair ends and it keeps the hair in place..It's very light and it doesn't make the weave look bad. You only need a small amount, just rub your finger across the top!
Anywho, hope this helps someone

I’ve tried ONYC Light Relax and I LOVE it!!
I used 1 ½ bundles but again I did a partial install and I 14”
It all depends on your style but I’ll definitely contact them. They have amazing customer service and well
educated with hair.
I hope that helps
