Half those bishes are engaged, married or have kids. I'm not and that's fine; I don't want to be. It's hard to have a "girls night" or even go for beers after work when they would rather chill with their boo. Understandable, but it sucks.

There just something about having a black girlfriend that I feel like I'm missing. There are certain things I can't discuss with my white friends because they don't "get it". It's a lack of empathy. They have no idea.

I didn't have that growing up, so I'm attempting to find it now.

I don't know if any of that makes sense?...

yes it does.  and i would def try the meetup sites as a start. they have various grops and perhaps along with the natural girls group, they have a black professionals or whatever your interest is group. also try to go to events around town that will attract people. not sure what they have in your city, but like live music shows, happy hours, art exhibits, church, seminars/conferences, etc.

Absolutely. Matter-of-fact, when I first moved to Minneapolis, they were the ones who took me out, showed me around etc. I work at a small firm; there's about 12 people in my office: 6 millennial (23-32) and 6 old cats (50+).

We're super close and my boss is cool as hell, however, I would like to make friends who have no connection to my job.

yes it does. you don't always have to explain things, and there is just this feeling w/ black friends that u don't get w/ white ones.

are you part of a sorority? if you are, maybe finding some women that are can help you out

what about church?

try meetup again.

i hope u find some friends Hug

Yeah, I'm thinking it might be an option now. I just have to stop being so scared about it and go.
