I def know the feeling. After school it's like...where do I meet people? Everybody is clicked up. I'm tired of the same ole friends regardless of their color.

you will never get true diversity living in Iowa. so yes, perhaps moving would help. in the meantime, i think you should go ahead and try the meetup group again. just get out there and meet folks.

Oh I know. I don't want to get caught up in some bullsh$# by hanging out with the wrong crowd -- I'm trying to find people who have the same mind set as me..

When you're in your mid-20's and you move to a new city, it's really difficult to find friends. I have some contacts from college - I tried to rekindle those friendships, but we're all on different playing fields now. Half those bishes are engaged, married or have kids. I'm not and that's fine; I don't want to be. It's hard to have a "girls night" or even go for beers after work when they would rather chill with their boo. Understandable, but it sucks. There just something about having a black girlfriend that I feel like I'm missing. There are certain things I can't discuss with my white friends because they don't "get it". It's a lack of empathy. They have no idea. I didn't have that growing up, so I'm attempting to find it now. I don't know if any of that makes sense?...
