I bring good news!
I purchased this beautiful closure from MMR, however the scalp was too dark for my complexion
. So my thinking light bulb came on and I remembered that when you steam/boil hair, some of the color comes off. I tried it on an old lace closure I had and it the rits dye came off completely in 20 minutes after steaming it. SOoo, I proceeded with the silk closure. HERE is what I did.
Step 1: bring the water to a boil, remove it from stove and add some cold water to it.
Step 2: remove some of the water (put it in a separate bowl), leave enough in the pot to cover just the bottom of the closure.
Step 3: take some foil paper and put at the bottom/ on top of the water in the pan. leave a little bit of the corner on one side with the foil. Take some of the water from the bowl and pour it on top of the foil...just enough to cover the lace! You are not trying to mess with the hair itself.
Step 4: add the closure and let it simmer for 5 minutes....rinse with cold water..put it back in the pot for five minute...rinse...do this for 20 minutes. I kept rinsing it with cold water every five minutes because I was afraid the heat would damage the silk.
Step 5: You should start seeing some of the color in the water. If that does not work then add a small amount of rits color remover into to the pot, mix it with your fingers and then put the closure back in the pot as above.
Step 6: BEFORE removing the dye
Step 7: AFTER REMOVING THE DYE
