Hi again ladies...

I plan to get tree braids in a few weeks...can you tell me whats the best type of hair to use (is Kanekalon ok?) or does it have to be human hair?...and how long can this style survive? Can you wash the hair while its in? Do's and Donts while they are in?
thanks alot.Wink

if you get the cornrow type then they will probably last 4-6 weeks... if u get the individual type they can last as long as 3 months....  u can use whatever type of hair u like synthetic or human...yes u can wash ur hair... u basically treat them just like u would braids....

moria... it would be hard and i would only recommend it if u really have a braider that u a)trust and b)knows what they are doing...

i personally dont like using remy hair for braids b/c its basically impossible to reuse braided hair (so why spend the money for remy) and then u have the issue of mixing up the cuticle direction...

imo rkhair double drawn bulk hair is optimal for braids b/c its cheap yet still decent quality... certainly better quality than bss....

I have pics in my fotki with individual tree braids... I can do them myself... Although no where near as good as the lady who used to do them for me...

The pics should give u some idea of how they are done...

Look in the braids section of my fotki...

Girl, beautiful braidsWink what type of hair did you use? I Think the cornrows may take less time though---how long did the individuals take to do? Also, with the cornrows, what do you do with the end of the row once you have finished each row? I mean, do you have to sew the end of each cornrow down or something so it doesnt unravel? I hope I am making senseConfused
