For anyone who is transitioning, do you ladies still take care of your relaxed ends? If you're going to chop it off soon, do you ever go "why bother?" Who wants to waste their products on hair they KNOW they're going to chop off?

Weird question, I know, but I'm curious

I've seen some people with that mindset.

Personally, if it's still attached to my head, I'm going to take care of it. What's the point in having healthy newgrowth and jacked up relaxed ends? If that's the case...go ahead and cut it now; stop walking around looking a hot ass mess.

When I transitioned I looked after my hair from root to tip. I was afraid of breakage and the length was the reason why I transitioned, rather than chopped so I looked after that length!!!!

When i would see breakage (tiny pieces of hair ) in the sink, at first i was close to being distraught....but then i think about it say well its the relaxed ends mostly and won't go jump off a bridge because of it...LOL

But since then, I have the breakage under control and I really try to give my ends the same amount of attention as the rest of my hair now because I believe that some parts of my hair I'm completely natural while other sections still have few few inches to go.

I am transitioning with weaves so I don't have to think about the majority of my relaxed hair b/c it is braided up. But when I am not in a weave... I must admit I have the "why bother?" atititude, lol. I don't have damaged or broken ends though... if I did, I think I'd just chop.

I am transitioning with weaves as well with every install i cut a little before the next install i still take care of my hair as well. I think you still need to take care of it, i mean if the relaxed part gets damaged and works its way down to the natural its not like its going to just stop being damaged once it reaches the natural part. If that makes sense. Those are my thoughts.

To all though happy tranisition and HHG.

lol, I completely agree.  I take care of my head from root to tip.  Honestly, I think it would be difficult to only care for the roots (only apply product to the roots).  If my ends are a tangled, dried mess then its hard to comb the top, ya feel me.  LOL

I have thought those thoughts though, "what's the point."  But the hair all works together.  I think you get to a point in your transition when you really do stop caring and that means its time to chop.  I'm getting more and more like that.
