A car is basically transportation for me.

I will only by new, and keep it for as long as it lasts.

I'm cheap. I bought my current car new because it was actually cheaper than a used car that I wanted. I'm going to drive this thing until the wheels fall off. I plan on keeping it at lease 10 years.

I've had the same car for the last 12 yrs and it just broke down on me.. I'm hoping its just the alternator.

But I've been set on a Mini (countrymen/ Pacemen) for price/ luxury aspect/ and uniqueness/ as well as fun driving experience because it comes in Manual. Everyone whom I told gave me the "WTF" face when i brought it up.

Goes to "do you care what other people think" thread.

So now Ima check out an A5 Audi. It's sleek and stylish, Im pretty sure its fun to drive and it comes in a manual.

I think I deserve a brand new car (never had one) so I think Ima pull the trigger sometime this summer.

Thanks BHM.

You might want to consider the new VW Passat hybrid. I test drove it and it's lovely. And it comes in manual. Very luxurious feel, still german, not quite as expensive as audi.

I'm a buy new, keep forever type person. I kept my first car for 10 years. And I'm sure I'll be keeping this one for at least as long.

I like all the extra fun stuff...heated seats are my life...but I don't really care about what type of car it is or how it looks.

One should only get a loan if it's 1% or less. Otherwise, save money until you can afford to buy outright.

Certified used beats new all day. You can get a certified used that's only one or two years old for a lot less.

My car is over ten years old and I'm screwed if it breaks down now. I can't afford a new one.

I don't care for brand news cars. Loses value as soon as you drive off the lot, might as well buy a year or two older that's certified. Most companies don't change much anyway unless it's a complete remodel of the old one.

I want a Mazda3 or CX-5, or a Jetta Volkswagen. My car is 10 years old and I'm severely overdue for a new one.

Bascially.

I am liking that Audi Q5 and that Tesla Model X.....

I don't think it needs to reflect my status but I always preferred new. It must be wired with all the latest bells and whistles though, inside (tech and power everything).

I don't care much about the outside.
