Not her best look: Donatella Versace, 59, looks exhausted and shows off boney frame in backless dress while attending the Met Gala celebrations

She's one of the biggest names in fashion, but even someone like Donatella Versace can have an off day.

The 59-year-old fashion mogul shocked as she stepped out at the grand opening of the new $40 million Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday.

Her stylish white pants suit did little to distract from her weary and exhausted appearance which was highlighted with heavy, black eye make-up.

Never one to back away from working her own unique look, the Italian identity looked in need of a nap and some quality time at a meditation spa.

Instead, she backed up the daytime appearance with a red carpet one only a few hours later for  fashion's night of nights: the Met Gala.

She mingled with a who's who of the fashion world, with First Lady Michelle Obama officially opening the facility, while Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney and Sarah Jessica Parker were among those in attendance.
