eta: I really don't think the lemon is necessary(?) but it helps the flavor IMO. ACV is yucky.
Do you use lemon with yours, Cream?
I didn't use lemon, but I'm sure it would help.
The gargle I posted kinda tastes like hot wings, lol.
It's spicy, but it works amazingly well for me.
I had visited the ER for the same thing about a week earlier. They gave me steroids and did a culture. Said it wasn't strep, but recommended I go to an EENT specialist because it's been an ongoing problem all my life.
A week later and my throat is on fire @ 2am. I Googled natural remedies and saw the recipe. I knew I hadn't bought any cayenne pepper (I buy it now, believe that!), but I found some in a chili kit.
Was amazed at how well it worked. Took about an hr, but it worked. I went to sleep and was fine after that.
No home remedy of ANY type has ever worked that well for me.
The EENT doctor offered to remove my tonsils, but told me how traumatic it is for adults, the scabs, the bleeding, the trips back to the hospital and I read testimonies from adults who have had it done, and decided AIN'T NO WAY..
