If you just want to lightly stretch the curls don't comb it through. Just put it in and smooth with your hands. That should be enough to get the curl stretched. That's what I do and my hair is easy to straighten but has curls to do a wash and go. Here is my hair in a wash and go.
I never comb the relaxer through. I smooth with my hands.

About my hair: Big chop and grew out my perm, completely virgin I guess you could say. However I missed wearing it straight, more importantly getting it straight with ease. So I tried a Keratin treatment first, went well. Then once that faded I got a texturizer. I put it all over since my hair wasn't processed. Too bad I combed like it told me to but my hair came out straight in certain areas and limp. That was 7 months ago. So Im thinking I want to try it again, until I am sure Im going to do a Keratin treatment. When I do go back for the texturizer touch up, is it ok to not smooth? I miss my curls and fullness. The thing is I have a lot of hair but it is very fine so my hair tends to lose the shape of the curls just from putting it in a ponytail. Is the texturizer strong enough without needing to smooth? I guess I just want to lightly stretch the curl.
