Looks like Lupita nabbed an interesting new role but racist Hollywood is not interested. SMH...
She'll be collaborating with Mira Nair, the Indian fillmaker who did Mississipi Masala with Denzel Washington.

Lupita Nyong’o Is Making a New Movie That No One Is Very Interested In

lupita

Beautiful human sedative and Glamour’s Woman of the Year, Lupita Nyong’o, has a new movie in the works. But judging by how excited everyone is (not very) it’s probably not going to be earning her a second Oscar.

Nyong’o will star in director Mira Nair‘s Queen of Katwe, based on the real life story of Ugandan chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi, according to this forum on awardswatch. “I read this throw away line in an article about black women and representation in Hollywood,” claims OP, though a Google search turns up nothing. A Yahoo! video of the actress’ speech at Glamour’s recent Women of the Year ceremony confirms via split-second intro from Nair that the two modern legends of black cinema are indeed working on a new film together.

Nair is a prolific director known mostly for her work on the excellent Salaam Bombay!, Mississippi Masala, and Monsoon Wedding. However, as forum commenters note, her more recent titles — including Vanity Fair and Amelia (yikes) have failed to hit the same mark. This could be the reason Lupita’s film isn’t getting more press. It could also be because stories of people in developing countries don’t normally cause a stir until they get at least 100 votes on Rotten Tomatoes.

In the Yahoo! interview Nyong’o talks about how she first met Nair:

When I was an undergrad I was planning to focus on him,” Nyong’o recounts to Katie Couric. “I was home for the summer and I was talking to my parents about my interest in film, and my dad said, ‘You know what? I have a friend who’s married to a director.’ I said, ‘Who?’ and he said, ‘her name is Mira Nair.’ I was like, ‘Daddy… Mira Nair is a big deal. How could you not have told me that you have connections with Mira Nair?’”

How? Everything she said has been pinpoint accurate from my perspective.
Divisions in Kenya are along tribal lines (and to some extent socio-economic status) not really skin hue....she also comes from an educated, rich, political family, so she had a privileged life.
Mexico is racist

Celebrity Style / Hot or Hmm / November 10, 2014

It’s official: white is the hot color for this Fall/Winter! From Nicole Richie to Selena Gomezto Kate Beckinsale, the typically spring color is making its way into colder temps.
Lupita Nyong’o jumped onto the trend at Glamour’s 2014 Women of the Year Awards in a gold beaded creation from Chanel’s Fall 2014 couture collection:
