Unfortunately at this point his best best on getting a forever family is to meet a nice girl and make a family of their own.

I'm on the end tail of this thread, but did the families have any ongoing counseling? For the boy...with the boy by my himself. All of that

It seems like common sense that would be a necessary part of adopting an older child. Was it expected he just come through the front doors without any problems?

yeah it might be more important at this point to work on his anger issues and continuing to excel in school.

Seems they wanted a Blindside experience. Then again I am assuming the minister was white.

Davion Only 'has built up a lot of anger,' says head of foster agency

The Florida foster child who became a media darling and received 10,000 offers for a new home is back in foster care after a family kicked him out, Tampa Bay Times reports. In fact, efforts with four families went sour, and 16-year-old Davion Only has shut down lines of communication—no media events, no Facebook messages, no meetings with his adviser.

"I'm extremely worried about him," his adviser said. "We had a short conversation a couple of weeks ago, but it was very unsettling." So what happened? Things seemed positive in March when a minister and his wife flew Davion up to Ohio, signed him up for football, and took him to church. "I got baptized!" Davion wrote on Facebook.

But during the 90-day trial period, "there was an incident in Ohio," said Lorita Shirley, director of his foster care agency. Davion apparently had a physical altercation with the father and another child in the house, and the family wanted him gone.

This was after three other placements failed to gel, including one with a foster family where Davion said he "had a blowout." Shirley says the biggest problem "is that Davion spent 15 years in the system. He has built up a lot of anger." But she's still seeking placement for him, maybe with "empty-nesters" who have experience raising teenagers. "That might be the best match for him." (Read about the tremendous effort Davion made to receive better care.)

Davion Only Out of Foster Home Months After Adoption Plea Went Viral

The Florida teen whose plea to be adopted went viral is no longer living with the foster family that promised to take him in, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Davion Only, 16, made headlines in October after he was videotaped begging for a loving home during a church service in St. Petersburg, Florida. After being born to a mother in jail, Davion was shuttled between foster families, ending up in a group house with 12 other boys because of his anger issues.

"My name is Davion and I've been in foster care since I was born," he told the congregation. "I know God hasn't given up on me. So I'm not giving up either."

His prayers seemed to be answered as his story received national attention, with more than 10,000 people offering to give him a home.

Davion flew to Ohio to live with – and hopefully be adopted by – a minister in March. But just months later, he's back in the Florida system after getting into a physical fight with the man and another child, the Times reports.

Lorita Shirley, director of Tampa Bay's foster agency Eckerd, called the heartbreaking turn of events "a major setback" for Davion.

"When he is ready, we will continue down the list of people who have expressed interest in him," she told the paper. "Now, we might be looking at empty-nesters, people who raised teenagers but don't have any other kids in their house. That might be the best match for him.

Me too. I feel bad that I can't do much now, But I'll def be adopting the kids that no one seems to want if I have the means.

I want to adopt but I don't know where to start.   I wouldn't mind and older kid either.
